Summer Special Reading
With the 2012 Fall semester just around the corner, we are saying goodbye to summer and kicking off the new academic year with a Summer Special reading. A celebration of our amazing Fourteen Hills contributors, the featured authors will be Keely Hyslop, Siamak Vossoughi, Nona Caspers, and Aaron Shurin.
When: Friday, August 10th
Time: The doors open at 7pm. The reading will start propmtly at 7:30.

Kelly Hyslop is the author of the book, Things I Say to Pirates on Nights When I Miss You, winner of Fourteen Hills' Michael Rubin Book Award and the Golden Crown Literary Society Award. Her work has appeared in Weave, Foundling Review, Poecology, sPARKLE & bLINK, and Conversations at the Wartime Cafe.
Siamak Vossoughi was born in Tehran, Iran, grew up in Seattle, and now lives in San Francisco. He writes short stories and his work has appeared in Prick of the Spindle, River and Sound Review, Faultline, Konch Magazine, and, happily, Fourteen Hills.
Aaron Shurin is the author of eleven books of poetry and prose, most recently Citizen, a collection of prose poems (City Lights Books, 2012) and King of Shadows, a collection of personal essays (City Lights Books, 2008.) He's Professor Emeritus in the MFA Writing Program at the University of San Francisco. His work appeared in the inaugural issue of Fourteen Hills.
Nona Caspers' book of critically acclaimed stories, Heavier Than Air, was a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice. Her stories have been honored with numerous awards including an NEA Fellowship and an Iowa Review Fiction Award. Her latest book Little Book of Days, also draws on her ability to transform the personal into compelling universal story. She is a Professor of Creative Writing at San Francisco State University. Her work is also available in the Fourteen Hills Fiction Anthology.
