The Michael Rubin Book Award (MRBA) Release Party is fast approaching on Wednesday, November 6, 7-9 PM. Fourteen Hills is excited to celebrate the 2013 winner Sarah Heady in style at The Booksmith.

Sarah is a MFA Poetry candidate at San Francisco State University and will be reading from her MRBA winner Niagara Transnational. She describes her poetry as tracing "[…] the intersections of natural and built environments, often in relation to waterways […]." She is a founding member of the New Philadelphia Poets, and has received the William Dickey Fellowship in Poetry and an honorable mention in the Ann Fields Poetry Prize.

The MRBA is a contest held annually for students at San Francisco State University. The winning manuscript alternates between prose and poetry each year and is published by Fourteen Hills in a limited one-run printing. A different guest judge determines the winner each year. Niagara Transnational was chosen by Stephanie Young.

Details of the MRBA Release Party:

Where: The Booksmith, 1644 Haight Street in San Francisco

Date: November 6, 2013 (Wednesday)

Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
