On November 7th, 2014, Fourteen Hills will be joining Green Apple Books on the Park for the release of Look Busy: One hundred 100-word stories by and for the easily distracted, the debut collection by Jane McDermott and the winner of the annual Michael Rubin Book Award. If you’ve ever had a conversation with someone about San Francisco indie bookstores, chances are you’ve heard of Green Apple. In the list of places that book people go, book people being you people and us people, Green Apple is up there with libraries, noiseless and well-lit rooms, and literary festivals. The Clement Street location has been a SF institution for years and recently a new location has opened up in the Inner Sunset at 1231 9th Avenue. The new location, Green Apple Books on the Park, is in many ways an extension of the previous location but with it’s own “personality and focus,” as they say on their website: “Think less dust, more breathing room, and plenty of fine books.”
More breathing room, of course, is bookstore code for a pretty ideal space to hold events. Green Apple Books on the Park has loaded up the foreseeable future with events featuring new releases by authors like Will Boast, Courtney Moreno, and Matthew Gavin Frank, not to mention MRBA winner Jane McDermott. Green Apple Books on the Park is the perfect place for the literary and larger community to come out, mingle with authors, and enjoy great books. The staff are welcoming and dedicated, and the space is warm and comfortable. All are invited to join us in this community as we celebrate the release of Jane’s first book in this great new literary space! The release party will take place at Green Apple Books on the Park on Friday, November 7th, from 7pm–9pm.
The event is FREE and the book, drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase.
